Reforming the Notion of Politics

How does less politics increase the chances of one to master or gain the most out of politics? It may be a question that may trigger confusion, but it nonetheless is a question worth asking in the Information Age. For, when judging by the type of political leaders that have obtained immense powers to govern the people's affairs, most of them never truly obtained the knowledge required to understand the fundamentals of politics that scholars or intellectuals possessed.

Politics, as a discipline must be reformed and restructured, in order to graduate proper students of politics that may exercise this major as an art. Like teaching art, one thinks that it is something that can be easily taught. However, the contrary may be true. For, one must be born with the spirit of an artist, to give the brush the necessary push and the right grip to create a master piece. Anyone may be taught to draw and paint, but not all will be able to imitate great works of art or be able to invent their own style. This may be said for politics, as well. Many assume to know or understand politics just by flipping through the news channels. However, a real political individual reads in between the lines or past the news and what is being presented to the wider audience - the masses - and instead analyses and determines what is the truth behind the glamour or the real face under the makeup.

Politics must be taught within institutions in a manner that allows for one to be completely open and honest about their thoughts and beliefs and then to be taught how to utilize such characteristics for enhancing society's base. We are all political animals, as Aristotle has highlighted, but we are not all aware of our political significance or strengths. This is where the most gifted surpass the most extreme expectations uplifted by society, if they are given an opportunity to present their knowledge to the world.

The current leaders of the international order are more influenced by the politics of business and not the business of politics. As the former indicates lust and blind ambition to topple everyone for the sake of personal triumph or a means to an end narrative, while the latter exemplifies the urge for increasing one's understanding of the very mechanism of politics.
