The Necessity of Politics to Define and Shape our Roles in Society

When analysing the political absurdities and mess that it leaves scattered as remains from its lawnmowing through people's welfare and wellbeing, there is the much-needed separation of business and politics. Politics has become a business, whilst politicians have become businessmen. Politicians have become crafty at commodifying and profiting from the security, freedom and interests of the people. Their motive to do so, lies within the people's relentless attitude to do nothing to contain or prevent injustices from occurring. The people are corrupted or left in oblivion, if the political institutions in place have sowed the seeds for such environment. We speak of checks and balances, however, that should not be the case, if the politicians or statesmen elected to run or govern the affairs of the people tend to do their job well or abide to the principles and values they swore to protect.

Refining and restoring older values of honour, respect and duty are great for referring back to but are not imperative when designing a new political structure for a new world order. The reformation of politics that is spoken of here, is in reforming the very definition and purpose of such a discipline, by turning the political field or establishment over its head. Politics has encompassed a certain Machiavellian nature, yet, politics can be saved from itself just as how an individual may be saved from their addiction or even sins. How this would occur, is through re-educating the youth of what politics was intended on being and what politics of the future must appear to look like. Politics of the future must be about procedures and tactics of advocating liberation of the mind, heart and spirit of the people. State or no state, politics shall endure, as politics is what binds people together and what may split them apart. Therefore, to further comprehend politics as a discipline of collaboration, then association and finally management of people, is taking the more plausible path towards reforming our very understanding of such an elusive and unappreciated discipline. The art of politics is left to the artists themselves, such as political state figures or rulers that have the ability to create policy or manage the affairs of society without breaking.

The right to claim politics must be left vacant to all, whom wish to gain an understanding or foothold in determining how to stir the ship of society towards the right destination. What this would imply, is politics must be used as a tool to determine each and everyone's place and role in society. When one puts too much faith in the captain of a ship, one must not neglect the hundreds of "others" whom are contributing at every second of the way to allow the ship to move. The captain may be doing the stirring but they are not actually the reason why the ship is in operational mode. Countless of others are working endlessly to maintain the ship and keep it functional, at all levels, in order for the ship to run its course effectively. This is what a functional political society is ought to look like. Everyone must play their part, but also keep intact their aspirations and desires for a grander life, in order for the structure of society to be maintained.
